Refund & Package Policy

Guardians of the Pack

At Guardians of the Pack, our packages are designed to provide Guardians with a convenient way to reserve multiple sessions while offering greater value as package size increases. This Refund & Package Policy applies to Training, Play, Adventure, and other applicable package services provided by Guardians of the Pack. It should be read together with the applicable Service Agreement & Consent Form, Scheduling & Cancellation Policy, and Terms & Conditions.

1. Package Purchases

Guardians of the Pack currently offers Training, Play, and Adventure services through individual service arrangements and package options. Available packages, pricing, session quantities, and applicable taxes will be communicated before purchase and confirmed through the applicable Service Agreement and/or invoice. Package prices and availability may change from time to time. A price change will not change the price of a package that has already been purchased and paid for, unless otherwise agreed or required by law.

2. Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the full balance of the selected package must be paid before the first scheduled session. Payments are currently accepted by e-transfer to:

Services will not begin until required payment has been received. Applicable taxes will be included on the invoice where required.

3. Training Waitlist Deposit

When a Training waitlist is in effect, joining the waitlist does not require payment and does not guarantee a particular Training date, time, or placement.

When a Training placement becomes available, Guardians of the Pack may offer the Guardian available scheduling options and require a $100 reservation deposit to secure the offered Training placement. Unless otherwise communicated, the reservation deposit must be received within 72 hours of the placement being offered. If the deposit is not received within that period, Guardians of the Pack may release the placement and offer it to another Guardian. The $100 reservation deposit will be credited toward the total cost of the Training package and is not an additional charge.

Once a Training placement has been accepted and secured by payment of the reservation deposit, the deposit is generally non-refundable if the Guardian subsequently chooses not to proceed with Training, subject to any cancellation or refund rights required by applicable law. If Guardians of the Pack is unable to provide the Training service after accepting the reservation deposit, the deposit will be refunded in full. If, before Training begins, Guardians of the Pack determines that the Training service cannot safely or appropriately be provided to the Guardian or canine, the reservation deposit will be refunded unless the inability to provide the service results from material information that the Guardian failed to disclose, subject to applicable law.

The reservation deposit applies only to the Training placement for which it was collected and cannot be transferred to another Guardian, canine, Play package, Adventure package, or other service unless expressly agreed to by Guardians of the Pack. Once Training begins, the reservation deposit forms part of the total amount paid toward the Training package and is no longer treated as a separate deposit. Nothing in this section limits any cancellation, refund, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.

4. Package Expiration

Packages are intended to be used within a defined period so that services can remain consistent and appropriate for the Guardian and canine.

The following expiry periods apply:

Training Packages
Training packages expire one (1) year from the date of the first Training session.

Play Packages
Rookie, Pro, All Star, and other Play packages expire six (6) months from the date of the first Play session.

Adventure Packages
Scout, Explorer, Trailblazer, and other Adventure packages expire six (6) months from the date of the first Adventure session.

Guardians are responsible for completing their package sessions within the applicable expiry period. Unused sessions remaining after the applicable expiry date will generally expire and be forfeited without refund, subject to any approved extension and any rights required by applicable law.

5. Package Extensions

We understand that exceptional circumstances can sometimes prevent a Guardian or canine from completing a package within the applicable period.

Package extensions are not guaranteed but may be considered by Guardians of the Pack on a case-by-case basis. Circumstances that may be considered include:

significant canine illness or injury;
veterinary restrictions preventing participation;
significant personal or family emergencies;
prolonged service interruption caused by Guardians of the Pack; or
another exceptional circumstance approved by Guardians of the Pack.

Guardians are encouraged to contact us as soon as they become aware that an exceptional circumstance may prevent completion of their package.

If an extension is approved, the revised expiry date will be communicated by Guardians of the Pack. An extension granted for one package does not automatically apply to any future package.

6. Completed Sessions

Once a session has been completed, the portion of the package payment attributable to that session is non-refundable. Sessions considered used because of a late cancellation or no-show will be treated in accordance with our Scheduling & Cancellation Policy.

7. Guardian-Initiated Cancellation or Termination

A Guardian may choose to discontinue services at any time by providing written notice to Guardians of the Pack. Once a package has begun, payments for completed sessions are non-refundable and unused sessions are generally non-refundable when the Guardian voluntarily chooses to discontinue the service. This includes circumstances where the Guardian simply changes their mind, no longer wishes to continue, or elects not to use the remaining sessions. Guardians of the Pack may consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Any exception offered by Guardians of the Pack does not create an obligation to provide the same exception in another circumstance. Nothing in this section limits a cancellation or refund right required by applicable law.

8. Termination by Guardians of the Pack

Guardians of the Pack may modify, suspend, or terminate a service where reasonably necessary, including where:

the canine presents behavioural, medical, or safety concerns that make continued participation unsuitable or unsafe;
important behavioural, aggression, bite history, medical, or safety information was not disclosed;
the canine's behaviour, health, or circumstances materially change;
the Guardian materially fails to comply with the applicable Service Agreement;
the Guardian engages in abusive, threatening, unsafe, or seriously disruptive conduct;
the service is determined to be unsuitable for the canine; or
Guardians of the Pack is otherwise unable to safely or appropriately continue providing the service.

If services are terminated because of the Guardian's material failure to comply with the Service Agreement, failure to disclose material information, or material behavioural or safety concerns involving the canine, unused sessions will generally not be refundable, subject to applicable law. If Guardians of the Pack terminates the package for reasons unrelated to the Guardian's conduct, compliance, or the canine's behavioural or safety concerns, the Guardian will receive a pro-rata refund for eligible unused sessions.

9. Pro-Rata Refunds

Where a pro-rata refund is applicable, completed sessions will be valued using the per-session rate of the package originally purchased. The eligible unused portion of the package will then be refunded, together with any applicable tax adjustment.

Example: If an All Star package contains 10 sessions for $325, the package rate is $32.50 per session. If three sessions have been completed and Guardians of the Pack subsequently terminates the package for a reason that qualifies for a pro-rata refund, the three completed sessions would be valued at $97.50 and the remaining seven unused sessions would have a value of $227.50, before any applicable tax adjustment. Completed sessions will not be retroactively repriced at the rate of a smaller package solely because Guardians of the Pack terminates the package early.

10. Late Cancellations & No-Shows

Sessions forfeited under the Guardians of the Pack Scheduling & Cancellation Policy, including applicable late cancellations and no-shows, are considered used sessions for package and refund purposes. A session considered used under that Policy will generally not be eligible for a refund, credit, replacement session, or transfer.

11. Non-Transferable Packages

Packages are purchased for the specific Guardian and canine identified in the applicable Service Agreement. Packages, payments, credits, and unused sessions cannot be transferred to:

another Guardian;
another canine;
another person;
another Guardians of the Pack service; or
another package,

unless expressly authorized by Guardians of the Pack or required by applicable law. Training, Play, and Adventure packages are separate services and must be purchased separately.

12. Additional Sessions & Continued Services

Package pricing reflects the number of sessions included in the package purchased. Once all sessions in a Play or Adventure package have been completed, the Guardian cannot continue purchasing individual sessions at the per-session rate associated with that completed package.

To continue receiving Play or Adventure services, the Guardian must purchase another available package at the pricing in effect at the time of the new purchase. For Training services, additional sessions may be available at an additional-session rate communicated by Guardians of the Pack.

Any promotional, discounted, or discretionary pricing offered by Guardians of the Pack applies only as communicated and does not create an entitlement to that pricing for future services.

13. Package Value & Promotions

Package savings are based on purchasing the complete package. Promotional offers, discounts, package rates, or special pricing cannot be combined unless expressly stated by Guardians of the Pack. Promotions may be subject to separate eligibility requirements, dates, availability, or terms communicated at the time of the offer.

14. Refund Processing

Where a refund is approved by Guardians of the Pack or required by applicable law, the amount will be calculated according to the applicable package, completed sessions, eligible unused sessions, and circumstances giving rise to the refund. Any applicable tax adjustment will be included where required. Approved refunds will be processed within a reasonable period using an appropriate payment method.

15. Applicable Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Policy, our Terms & Conditions, or a Guardians of the Pack Service Agreement is intended to exclude, restrict, or waive any consumer right, remedy, refund right, cancellation right, warranty, or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or waived under applicable Ontario or Canadian law. Where a mandatory requirement of applicable law conflicts with this Policy, the applicable legal requirement will govern.
